Dear reader,
I hope you are sitting comfortably as I have got a lot to say!
changed. The inevitable bags under my eyes, wrinkles and lines and that's ok! However, the
depressing truth is that the cosmetics out there are not geared to the colour and texture of my
menopausal skin because the men in suits who run the cosmetics houses have a disconnect with anyone over 40.
While some cosmetics houses have clicked on to the fact that we, 40 plus real women, are the
largest demographic with more money to spend, we have to be savvy to find the right products
and more importantly be able to use them. So many women revert back to the same old stuff we used in our twenties - blue eye shadow, pink lips and orange cheeks! Or worse go to the beauty counters and some young consultant looking like a drag queen sells you a load of products that you will never use.
The answer is simple, embrace your “flaws” learn to love your wrinkles and accept that much of what we read in fashion magazines is provided by the beauty companies - what looks good on that model may not look good on you! Beware of screaming colours the latest trends, walk
away from that frosted eyeshadow and over penciled eye brows. The truth is you need to ask yourself...
"Is that lipstick too harsh?"
"Is your eye makeup too heavy?"
"Are you wearing too much foundation?"
Its time to rethink your regime and go get yourself some grown up make-up and learn how to use it! That's where I come in. I know that in order for you to affect change you need help and guidance to give you the confidence to change. For that reason I started ‘The Make-up Training Company’. Our mission is to help you adapt your look without making those expensive mistakes. If you add up all the money that you have forked out over the years for cosmetics that you didn’t need or didn’t use or threw away you could be taking that holiday in The Maldives!
The good news is, to look good you don’t need to spend a fortune. Yes, the odd product that is more expensive may be necessary but a lot of what you need can be bought from the chemist or supermarket and I am going to share that with you.
"I deliberately never aligned myself with any cosmetic companies, so I can give honest impartial advice."
Forget about recapturing your youth, good makeup applied in the right way is your most powerful weapon. We are not twenty anymore and thats a good thing, its time to release ourselves from beauty gimmicks and at this stage in our lives we need minimal, effortless routines that impact our looks in a positive way making us feel good about ourselves with a new found confidence.
I can't get to meet all of you all personally and see your beautiful faces as most of my followers are all over the world, but I am going to spread my decades of knowledge with you via my online make-up course.
Why choose my course over the numerous Youtube tutorials? Some are good, some are hilariously bad but none of them give you the in-depth training needed to truly give you the skills needed for you to successfully make the changes to your regime. I don’t work for a cosmetics compan -, that's key - and everything I show you is for you and that's the only true way to show you what works. My team and I are working hard to get this launched in the New Year.. the first dedicated make-up course for the over 40’s!. I may have an industry fatwa on my head when its launched, I have been called the urban Guerrilla of the cosmetics industry.. hopefully nothing to do with my size?
Take it from me, some things get better with age .. we do!
